Rollercoaster Ride

In the rollercoaster of life there are up days and down days.

Today is a down day.

I went to the hospital this morning to pick up Gifty, she was supposed to be discharged today. Xavi (her doctor) greeted me in her room and told me the bad news. She is sick again. Her fever is high and her breathing too fast. The respiratory infection is back. It is so hard to see. Yesterday she looked SO good. She was happy and laughing and bright eyed. Today she is feverish and lethargic. It breaks my heart. The infection hits her so fast. Xavi has started her on a new antibiotic cocktail. She will be in the hospital at least another 10 days. Tomorrow we are going to another clinic in town for a chest x-ray.

It is getting harder for me each time. Each up day is euphoric. But the down days come crashing hard.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I lift up Debbie to you. I ask that you renew her spirit daily if not hourly in this spiritual and physical battle going on for Gifty. Give her strength, give her wisdom, renew her desire to fight, bring people from both countries alongside Gifty and Debbie as they struggle thru this life experience. Father God I ask for a special time of rest for Gifty, for a time free of infection for her to get stronger and live in the moment. Touch her little body, Lord. In the awesome name of Jesus, we pray...Amen

Debbie,
I am so proud of you. I check your blog frequently and every time want to comment, but with the little one around it can be hard. I want you to know that we pray for you constantly and pray that Gifty is touched with God's healing hand and that God comforts you in your struggles and celebrates with you in your joy. No matter the situation know that He is with you; guiding you and preparing the way and is very proud of the work you are doing on His behalf. You are so brave and so genuinely loving and those children and that country are blessed to have you. I also pray for a constant peace in your heart. We send our love, encouragement and prayers...
